AH Almaas – spacecruiser inquiry
Salepage : AH Almaas – spacecruiser inquiry
A. H. Almaas, widely regarded as a pioneer in the integration of spirituality and psychology, has spent the last twenty-five years developing and teaching the Diamond Approach, a spiritual path that combines the insights of Sufism, Buddhism, Gurdjieff, and other wisdom traditions with modern psychology. Almaas use the metaphor of a “spacecruiser” to express a means of analyzing the immediacy of human experience—a method of investigating our moment-by-moment sensations, ideas, reactions, and behaviors through an open-ended questioning process. The approach is known as inquiry practice, and Spacecruiser Inquiry explains what it means to engage with this practice as a spiritual path, including its principles, obstacles, and benefits.
The author delves into fundamental aspects of inquiry, such as the open-ended attitude, the emphasis on direct knowledge, the sense of not-knowing, and the act of questioning. He outlines the “Diamond Guidance” experience—the inner knowledge that arises from our actual nature—and how it might be understood and implemented. Almaas examines several of the basic kinds of Diamond Guidance during this process, including knowing, clarity, truth, love, intellect, compassion, curiosity, bravery, and determination. There are also activities and questions and answers from Almaas’ original presentations, on which the book is based.
