Michel Thomas – Advanced German
Salepage : Michel Thomas – Advanced German
This tape is a continuation of the Foundation (8-hour) all-audio course that swept the language-learning world by storm.
Michel Thomas teaches the basic grammar of the language without the need of books, memorization, or assignments. He shares his secret with the world – and’makes it simple’ – using the approach he mastered over 50 years (Sunday Times).
In a matter of hours, he teaches what conventional methods take years to cover, giving his students a comprehensive working knowledge of the language – all the tenses are taught and practiced; the position of pronouns is simplified; and Michel spends some time on translation problems, instilling in the students “an enhanced awareness of their own language.” And he accomplishes it all with ease, ‘effectively and readily’ (Daily Star).
Michel had covered ALL of the structures and tenses of ‘A’ level and beyond by the conclusion of the Advanced course. Grammar elements and tenses that were barely touched on in the Foundation (8-hour) course are extended to provide the learner with a thorough understanding of the language’s structure.
He emphasizes the parallels in vocabulary between English and German and provides his pupils with tools to guess terms they do not know or believe they do not know.
Watch how two students study in real time. As the third member of the class, you will experience the thrill of learning a language as if by magic!
This updated edition includes one very important new feature: an extra ‘Review’ CD. All of the essential teaching topics from the 5-hour Advanced course are included on one single CD. When the student hears Michel explaining a specific topic, there is a brief break to allow the learner to respond to Michel’s suggestion, followed by Michel providing the proper response. If a student struggles or gives a wrong response, he or she can utilize the index in the accompanying booklet to find the portion of the main course where the specific language topic was taught in depth and return to the main course to study through the relevant section again quickly and effectively. It may also be used extremely successfully by students returning to the course after a break, either to assess how much they have recalled or as a short review aid. The new CD contains only Michel’s words and phrases, so the course is summarized quickly and at a fresh, brisk pace. Finally, the new edition is repackaged, with a modern cover design and sturdy DVD-type casings within a rigid card slip case, to guarantee that the CDs stay damage-free and simple to access and use.
