Penny will guide you through the process of constructing a simple client/server game environment utilizing Unity’s UNET technology, all the way through creating and administering a lobby system. The issues discussed are those that arise the most frequently on the forums and those many people struggle to grasp. The training is hands-on, with several step-by-step activities. Students in this course will learn about the UNET Network Manager and how to use message sending to synchronize player character rigid body movement and animation. Overriding the Network Manager will also be addressed, allowing developers to construct custom network functions such as changing player characters while playing, launching projectiles, and controlling player attributes such as health.
The following topics are covered:
IP addresses for network setups hosting remote procedure calls
synchronizing rigidbody movement synchronizing animation states switching between player-characters when linked
using the Unity Lobby component to synchronize variable values between scenes
establishing Unity Match Making services
This course was created in Unity 5 and is still applicable for versions 2017 and up to 2018.2 with Unity’s Networking API. Although the API is no longer supported in Unity 2020, Penny has given you with project beginning files that will allow you to use the HLAPI in 2020.
What previous students of this course have accomplished:
the creation of a multiuser online educational 3D virtual environment

What previous students have said about this course:
This course is fantastic. Penny explains in a polite, calm, and straightforward manner. The difficulty of the course gradually increases. I liked how several concepts were conveyed through images and animations.
Penny’s classes are fantastic. This one provided me with all I needed to know about networking in Unity.
Penny (as usual) covers everything relevant to the present part. She leaves no questions unanswered, and every course, from my understanding, is carried out without any misunderstanding. If you do have a question, it is most likely from my experience, which is covered in a later section of the course. Thank you very much, Penny!! You are fantastic!!!
