Trinny and Susannah’s latest victim is soccer-obsessed comic David Baddiel. However, while they are giving him a big aesthetic makeover, they concentrate their attention on males in general, collecting and identifying the seven Tribes of Man. David, who is approaching 40, is still sporting his dangly hoop earring from his undergraduate days. In truth, he still seems to be a student, dressed in loose t-shirts and oddly lined country-western jackets. But he is not alone; he is a member of the “Market Stall Holders” tribe. A peek inside David’s closet reveals his preference for “stupid trousers,” kilts, and sweaty, stinky soccer shirts. Even after watching a video of Susannah putting on his bikini briefs, David agrees to the makeover. But before he can move on to a more desired tribe, he needs to understand why his present style isn’t working and what needs to leave. (Saying it is easier than doing it!) “I felt a little like I was in Alfred Hitchcock’s The Birds,” David explains. It seemed as though these two insane, feminine, flapping, squawking presences were hitting me from every angle… My fury was beginning to flare. I was about to hit each of them in the face.”
